DAGRIN-YOUR MEMORIES IN OUR HEART IS EVERGREEN
Dagrin was regarded as many to what Michael Jackson was to Americans, In simple terms he is a musician who refuses to go down the path of creating copy cat music as many of the artist are doing today, instead dagrin invented his own sound and style of music (even though not from the ground up), he won the heart of many, not extremely popular on the internet but immensely famous on the streets of Nigeria (probably more popular than the internet), everything he lays his voice on becomes an instant hit, his messages were piercing and very strong, although he had his own share of the youthful exorbitance, which perhaps was a contributing factor to his ultimate death in April 2009.
God the almighty is the giver and taker of life, we came into this world as dust and we would return as dust. Olaitan Olaonipekun (1987 – 2010) also known as DaGrin personified the hustle and struggle of Nigerians. He came from a poor background. DaGrin was a student of the streets, he never forgot the streets and he would always be remembered by the streets.
DaGrin was one of the very few Nigerian artists to create an exclusive style of music, His music was mostly in his native dialect yoruba. He always delivered it exceptionally such that even those who weren’t yoruba could relate to his music. He was one of the very few Nigerian artists to release a well structured album, every song on his album was a tune, His album was the closet thing Nigerians had ever had to Hip-Hop, YES i said it, he was the first person out of Nigeria to deliver a REAL hip-hop album. His music crossed the borders of language and tribe. His music was the truth. His delivery was always on point, he never disappointed his fans.
He was humble with his music, he kept it 100 with himself and all his fans. He was all about the struggle of the average Nigerian, he was diverse, he made records for the streets, clubs, ladies. Every record he created was always on point, on records he featured on he always outdid his opponents, He was a real champion.

10 Killed In Clash Between Christians And Muslims In Plateau
Leaders in two villages in Plateau State say at least 10 people have
been killed in attacks between the Christians and Muslims living there.
The killings began over the weekend between the Jukun people of Plateau state, a Muslim ethnic group, and the Tarok people, who are Christian.
A community leader for the Junkun, Jawka Baba, said late Monday the Tarok burned down homes in his village and killed six people. Jongle Lohbut, a Tarok community leader, said four people were killed by the Jukun.
A military spokesman said he was aware of the fighting between the two groups.
The attacks centred around the volatile city of Jos, where thousands have been killed since 1999. Religion, politics, grazing rights and economic power all play a role in the violence.
As a precautionary measure in preventing the escalation of the crisis to neighbouring villages, an emergency meeting among representatives of the Taroh, Jukun, Bogghom, Jama’atul nasril Islam, Hausa, Fulani and Jarawa communities.
According to the Plateau State commissioner of Information and Communications, Abraham Yiljap resolutions taken at the meeting include:
1. Stakeholders committed themselves to return home and speak to all other stakeholders to implement an immediate cessation of hostilities;
2. They condemned the illegal use of firearms and called on all communities to seek alternative and peaceful methods of conflict resolution;
3. They have resolved to fight criminality in all its manifestation such as looting of property, cattle rustling, armed robbery and to expose people involved in such acts for appropriate action;
4. Stakeholders also agreed to encourage communities to communicate useful information in a timely manner to the security agencies for immediate action;
5. They called on the appropriate government agencies to extend aid to the internally displaced persons who are taking refuse in different parts of the zone;
6. Traditional rulers were encouraged to see and treat all subjects within their areas of influence as their own, and avoid every form of discrimination.

POPULAR DJ ESCAPE DEATH
But for divine providence, we will probably have woken up this morning
to unpleasant news about one of Nigeria's best and pioneer DJ's,
Stramborella, who was involved in a ghastly motor accident in the wee
hours of today, but escaped un-scarred.
The accident happened around 12 am on Ijora bridge, when Stramborella was driving to the island for work. He had set out earlier but had to wait it out somewhere in Surulere after the heavy downpour yesterday night started. When the rain stopped he proceeded to the Island; but while driving, one of his back tires suddenly came off, resulting in his white Toyota fore-runner jeep somersaulting to the other lane. Thankfully, no other car was affected, and he came out of the vehicle unharmed. He was however taken then the hospital for general checkup.
With the recent unpleasant happening in the entertainment industry, I'm really thankful for DJ Stramborella's life. See pictures of the jeep in question after the cut.
